The abandoned staircase originally had a church attached to it, but when Hurricane Katrina came, it damaged the old church and destroyed it. What was left was a flight of stairs that becomes a very popular spot to high schoolers during Mardi Gras.

Alyx Harch asked me to take pictures of her senior project exhibition and I thought it was funny because I wanted to ask her in person if I could take pictures of her and her breathtaking paper cranes and this is how it came to be.
